United Airlines has retained TechPubs to enhance United's global technical publications management processes and results

Leading global carrier selects TechPubs to resolve ongoing challenges in technical content management/distribution

June 2, 2010 Longmont, CO – TechPubs today announced that United Airlines has retained TechPubs to enhance United’s global technical publications management processes and results.

United is no stranger to centralized publications management. Over many years, the company has invested in advanced systems to deliver updated technical information around the airline, where and when needed, for ensuring efficient, reliable operations. In particular, centralized tech pubs systems can be crucial to compliance with stringent regulatory requirements in flight operations, maintenance, and other areas.

But while creating a centralized document repository and related tools pays immediate dividends, it can present a challenge to personnel unfamiliar with new technology, processes, and requirements. Installing new technology is only part of the equation in realizing the benefits promised by centralized publications. New processes for information acquisition, processing, conversion, publication, storage, and distribution are also required.

Building on a Strong Technology Base

United retained TechPubs to address just such issues. The company’s unique combination of technical and aviation industry experience provides customers including Southwest, Etihad, and others to achieve nearly immediate payback from advanced publishing systems throughout the enterprise. TechPubs will consult with United to streamline processes for more efficient publications management, and provide a range of technical services in document conversion to enhance distribution and use of critical documents in the short term.

“Although we’ve made great strides in the direction of dynamic publishing, we haven’t yet completed the evolution,” said David Strohm, Manager of Flight Technical Information at United. “We selected TechPubs to get us across the goal line because of their vast aviation experience and their mastery of dynamic publishing implementations. We look forward to working with TechPubs on this pivotal project.”

“We’re pleased to support United in their commitment to centralized publications management,” commented David Williams, TechPubs’ President and CEO. “That commitment, along with TechPubs experience in helping global carriers in this discipline, will produce an advanced enterprise-wise system that fits with United’s status at the top of the industry.”

Aviation IT veterans Long, Ogden to steer engineering, customer implementation efforts

Aviation IT veterans Long, Ogden to steer engineering, implementation efforts

March 28, 2010 Longmont, CO – TechPubs Global, a leader in aviation information management, today named Jingjun Long and Robert Ogden to lead the company’s software engineering and project management operations, respectively.

With TechPubs’ accelerating market penetration in the aviation document management sector, the posts, until now consolidated in a single executive, will be independently managed to better ensure efficient customer implementation and software enhancement. Recent new customer engagements, including wins at Southwest Airlines and Etihad Airways, have generated significant growth in both functions, requiring new management focus and specialization.

Industry Veterans Assume New Roles

Jingjun Long becomes TechPubs’ Director of Product Development, based in Shanghai, after serving as a TechPubs software engineer. His aerospace IT career has spanned 10 years, the last 6 with specific focus in commercial aviation document conversion and management systems. Most recently, Long served as Professional Services Manager for Infotrust Group (formerly Jouve Aviation Solutions), where he spearheaded aviation systems development and project implementation for major customers including UPS, US Air, China Airlines, FedEx, and Skybus. Long holds degrees from XiDian University and Xi’an University of Technology.

Robert Ogden moves into new responsibilities as Professional Services Manager for North America, after extensive experience spearheading TechPubs’ Southwest Airlines implementation. A US Navy veteran, Ogden has deep experience in the design and implementation of enterprise publications management systems, notably with United Defense Industries (later BAE Systems). There he managed the design, implementation, and management of IETMs (Interactive Electronic Technical Manuals) for the Tomahawk Land Attack Missile (TLAM), among other projects. He earned his degree at the University of Minnesota.

“These appointments come at a crucial point for TechPubs,” remarked David Williams, TechPubs President and CEO. “Our recent growth has been very exciting, but with high growth comes the challenge to execute as effectively as possible – for our customers, for our stakeholders, and for ourselves. Jingjun Long and Robert Ogden are perfect fits for their new posts, since they’ve helped similar organizations navigate these same waters. We’re thrilled to have both of them in place as we continue to innovate, grow, and support our global customers.”

Etihad Airways, the national airline of the United Arab Emirates and one of the world's fastest growing commercial carriers, today announced that TechPubs has been chosen to update the airline's technical publications management system.

Leading Middle East carrier to realize compliance, efficiency gains

Abu Dhabi, December 1, 2009: Etihad Airways, the national airline of the United Arab Emirates and one of the world’s fastest growing commercial carriers, today announced that TechPubs has been chosen to update the airline’s technical publications management system.

The solution, including TechPubs’ advanced FlightPubs and FlightComply solutions, will comprise an end-to-end flight operations documentation management capability, including in-cockpit EFB viewer technology, that will streamline organizational access to pre- and in-flight processes and safety procedure information.

Commercial aviation professionals depend on technical publications information to ensure that key functions, including flight operations and maintenance, are as efficient and as compliant with regulatory requirements as possible. TechPubs’ FlightPubs and FlightComply solutions make up-to-date information instantly and fully available across the airline enterprise – anywhere, to anyone, in the precise digital formats required.

Of particular interest to Etihad was FlightEFB, TechPubs’ solution for real-time cockpit information access. Linked to Etihad’s existing in-cockpit hardware, FlightEFB enables keyword search and retrieval across all available technical information related to equipment, processes, and other areas. In everyday operations, and particularly when safety issues arise, FlightEFB eliminates the delays and confusion of searching printed or digital documents, page by page, for the precise information needed at the moment.

“We couldn’t be more pleased to welcome Etihad as our latest airline partner,” said David Williams, TechPubs President and CEO. “By choosing TechPubs, Etihad has endorsed our commitment to critical standards: unparalleled technology delivered by experts who truly understand the challenges of running a global carrier. It’s a message that’s gaining traction in an industry challenged with balancing efficiency with safety considerations. We’re excited to support Etihad’s objectives with our solutions.”

TechPubs’ FlightComply and FlightPubs content management and EFB solutions to ensure rapid, more streamlined regulatory compliance; more efficient flight ops and maintenance processes.

Longmont, CO, JULY 9, 2009 – Allegiant Air, the airline subsidiary of Allegiant Travel Company, (NASDAQ: ALGT), has engaged aviation content management software and services leader TechPubs Inc to upgrade its enterprise-wide technical document management systems, used in flight operations and maintenance.

Commercial aviation professionals depend on technical publications information to ensure that key functions, including flight operations and maintenance, are as efficient and as compliant with regulatory requirements as possible. TechPubs’ FlightPubs and FlightComply solutions ensure that up-to-date information is fully available across the airline enterprise – anywhere, to anyone, in the precise digital formats required.

Allegiant Air’s partnership with TechPubs will enable the airline to establish an enterprise-wide content management system to manage processes, lifecycles, and audit trails for a variety of data and documents in its organization, such as Airline Operations, Maintenance, and Engineering. Central to the system is a repository allowing Allegiant to reduce the effort required to perform its business functions, increase the overall quality of its content, and provide a consistent and unified method for performing functions across the enterprise (such as unified security, unified workflow/processes, unified searching for content, unified web access, etc.)

Additionally, TechPubs will supply Allegiant Air with its EFBLink, a complete Electronic Flight Bag (EFB) publishing, distribution and viewing solution. EFBLink will enable the transformation of XML content to a specific EFB platform, including data packaging and distribution channel integration and specialized viewer in the cockpit.

“When we studied the marketplace for technical documentation management software and services, TechPubs stood out for its unique combination of technical and aviation-industry expertise,” said Maurice J. Gallagher, the airline’s president and CEO. “Great software is only effective if it’s implemented and supported by people who really understand the business and regulatory challenges unique to the commercial aviation industry. TechPubs filled the bill perfectly, and we look forward to a long, productive relationship.”

“We’re thrilled that Allegiant selected TechPubs to help them advance their technical document management procedures to the next level,” said David Williams, TechPubs’ President and CEO. “The trust Allegiant places in us to make their entire enterprise more efficient, nimble, and compliant with increasingly stringent safety regulations is a reflection of the technical and industry expertise that sets us apart.”

TechPubs’ unmatched industry expertise coupled with technology knowledge makes the company a natural choice for advanced training requirements

Longmont, CO, April 24, 2009 – SkyWest Airlines (NASDAQ: SKYW), the world’s largest independently-owned regional airline, has engaged aviation technical document management leader TechPubs to provide advanced training on its existing Arbortext Content Manager and Editor content management system. The training will allow SkyWest to optimize and enhance the functionality of the system that supports the authoring and publishing of the airlines’ operational procedures and regulations.

Commercial aviation professionals depend on technical publications information to ensure that key functions, including flight operations and maintenance, are as efficient and as compliant with regulatory requirements as possible.
But such systems can be complex to develop, maintain, and use. TechPubs’ unique depth of experience in customizing Arbortext technology to the specific needs of aviation customers makes the company an ideal partner to provide advanced training in this area.

“SkyWest’s decision to allow TechPubs to deliver airline-focused Arbortext training reflects our unique expertise with Arbortext and other aviation content management deployments,” said David Williams, TechPubs’ President and CEO. “In this difficult economic environment, relying on external experts for assistance in this complex technical area just makes sense.
